Singlemom in Paris

I loved traveling before I became a mother. That was the only goal I had for the next trip. I worked hard I didn't think about how it would look on my CV later, I was just interested in exploring and discovering foreign cultures and learning languages and how people lived.

At one point I had enough, it became tiring to only own things that fit in a bag and carry it around with you. I long to find my place in the world.

A new exciting chapter started, becoming a mother. Create a new life. I was still happy to travel, but it moved a bit into the background. There were some nice long journeys, but in a completely different way than before.

Now safety was the focus, destinations were carefully checked for dangers, crime, how exposed they were to natural disasters and diseases.

After I became a single mother, the strong desire to travel flared up again. Deprioritize many other things in order to collect memories and experiences together with my children. Memories that sometimes no one can take away from them.

But the average single mother's budget is about providing enough for housing, food and clothing. A little left over goes to leisure activities and savings. But I also managed to get rooms for travel.

Choice of travel destinations was even more limited. But everything is possible to achieve.

The children's interests are in the spotlight. The football club paris saint german became so popular among 8-year-olds. Names like messi, neymar and m bappe. Then we go to meet them.

The planning took some time and we just managed to meet the last one still in the team.

The first trip was a bit of a failure, since it was the first football game, I knew little about the fact that games can be moved, for example to the day before and then we ended up standing full of anticipation in front of an empty football stadium. But it was saved a bit by the experience the children got with a stadium tour, looking at trophies, looking at the changing room, going out together to see the big players and kicking the ball into their goal.

The trip had to be planned and it was successful.

Paris for a single mother with an 8-year-old boy was like this.
If there are more of you, airbnb apartments can be the cheapest option and the advantage is that you can cook yourself. But do you do that now? It is difficult to buy just enough so that you don't end up with a lot of leftovers.
You often go on a trip and still get silty along the way and have to buy some street food.

For an adult and a child, a hotel in the low budget class was the right choice.
Then you avoid the worry of ending up in a dark side street and lying awake at night listening to unfamiliar sounds. Then you have the security of a reception and not least a breakfast buffet with which you can start the day in a cozy way.

The choice of hotel is important in relation to both price and location. If it is centrally located and you can reach many interesting points of the city on foot, you quickly save on transport costs.

We chose a small hotel close to Champs Elysee. We could go to the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and the Seine. It was a short walk to the metro and we made it to the flight museum le bourget, which was a big highlight of the trip.

It was short to the bus stop to go to the football stadium.

I had forgotten to apply for leave from school and had to withdraw my boy from school, which means I was responsible for him to learn. And if he did, we learned French, we counted in the grocery store. We learned history and engineering at a high level.

There is a lot of important knowledge about both geography, culture, language and the history of the living that comes with the journey.

And skills such as orientation, learning to build social contacts, making contact with strangers.

We made Paris our short-term home. We walked through the streets, enjoying the flair of a famous European capital.

We ate snails and gave food to the homeless. We drove up with the lift to the top of the Eifel tower and enjoyed the view with all the lights in the evening.

My child's portrait was drawn by a street artist and we locked our love in the form of a lock on the bridge over the river Seine.

It was a long weekend full of impressions that my child will never forget. There were a lot of extra shifts at work and downgrading of clothes shopping and hairdresser visits, but absolutely worth it for me.
